| Director's Note |
To: NAP Membership
and Friends
The Holidays have passed and the New
Year is upon us. It is time to reflect and assess our accomplishments
of the past year and to set directions for the New Year.
For North Atlantic Packards, 2007 was a good year by most
measures. 2007 saw our membership continue to grow, had an
outstanding schedule of Club events, published a newsletter
that continues to win national awards, and all this was accomplished
with a treasury that is in fine financial condition. We did
lose some beloved members in 2007 but are warmed by the memories
we shared with them enjoying the things we like to do, namely
our interest in Packard automobiles. We lost Ken Kirby, Tom
Mix, Earl Robinson, Bayard Guild, and most recently the wife
of David Larson. Some of us have been hospitalized during
the past year, but have recovered to enjoy the continuance
of our friendships in NAP. So, it is important to savor the
relationships that have been built upon by our common interest
and enhance them at any opportunity available to us.

| The Annual Meeting and Banquet
held at the Wayside Inn on December 2nd was a success with
nearly 80 members and guests in attendance. New officers were
inducted for the next two years, new By-Law changes were voted
on and approved by the membership, and a silent auction was
conducted that raised nearly $1,900.00 for the Club. The day
was an unqualified success and capped and equally successful
year. Many people worked hard on this last event of the year:
in particular Pat Gagnon, our tireless Activities Chairwoman,
and Colin Nadeau, the chairman of the silent auction, and they
are to be commended for their superior efforts. |
| Many members have contributed
generously of their time and efforts to NAP this past year.
Certainly thanks go to our Activities Director, Pat Gagnon
and Editor of the Pelican Papers, David Robinson who represent
the lifelines of the Club to its members. Support of the Treasurer,
Ruth Raswyck, Membership Director, Charlie Wallace, and Secretary,
Bob Katz were vitally important to the smooth operation of
our Club, and we thank them. Also, thanks go to my wife, Marie
who filled in for Bob Katz as Secretary Pro-Tem while he was
ill. Many other members contributed in various ways and they
too are much appreciated. |
| Our goals for 2008 are quite
simple. They are: 1) to keep membership involvment in the Club
activities at the same or higher level as 2007, and 2) to sustain
membership growth with a goal to increase our numbers by 10%.
A preliminary schedule of planned events for 2008 will be published
in the newsletter, but we welcome your comments and feedback.
If you would like to suggest or hoist an event, please contact
either Pat Gagnon or me with your ideas. Please let us know
how we are doing, we welcome your feedback. |
| Please have a Happy New
Year! I hope your winter projects go well and I look forward
to seeing the results in the spring. |
